Harry Kane continued to show he is one of the greats at this summer's World Cup.
The England captain led his team to a third-place finish at the tournament, beating France in an epic 10-goal shootout. Kane had six goals in the World Cup, passing Pelé on the all-time World Cup scorers list and becoming England's all-time scorer at the competition.
In 2018, he won the Golden Boot for most goals in a World Cup, but this summer, lost the award to France's Kylian Mbappé.
Kane has also made his mark in club play and won the Golden Shoe with Bayern Munich last season for the most goals across Europe. He previously won the award in the 2023-24 campaign, his first with the German club.
Kane scored 73 goals across 65 matches in the time frame that is considered eligible for the Ballon d'Or (August 3, 2025 to July 19, 2026), making him one of the favorites. If he wins, he would be the fifth English player to win the prestigious award.
Has Harry Kane won the Ballon d'Or?
No, Harry Kane has not won the Ballon d'Or. He has won several other awards, including the World Cup's Golden Boot in 2018, but has never been named soccer's best men's player.

In 2024, he finished in 10th place in the voting. That year, Rodri won the award.
