5 die of dengue, 2,218 hospitalised in 24 hours

Death toll rises to 389 this year

At least five people died of dengue and 2,218 others were hospitalised across the country in 24 hours till 8:00am today.

With the latest deaths, the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease this year has risen to 389, while the cumulative number of cases has reached 126,166, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Currently, 6,384 dengue patients are receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.
