The Hindu - The Mahila Court here has awarded seven-year imprisonment to a Sri Lankan refugee for sexually assaulting an old woman 11 years ago.
According to prosecution, Karan, 36, of Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees Rehabilitation camp here sexually assaulted a 64-year-old woman in 2015 at Perumalpuram.
Mahila Court Magistrate awarded seven-year imprisonment to Karan on Tuesday.
In another case, the court awarded four years’ imprisonment to A. Babu, 45, of Keezha Konam, who trespassed into a house and sexually misbehaved with a woman in 2019.
