Colombo, Oct. 27 (Daily Mirror) - The government will decide whether to continue its agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) after the current programme concludes, Cabinet Spokesman Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said today.
Speaking at the weekly Cabinet decisions briefing, the Minister said it was too early to comment on any future agreement with the IMF.
He explained that the government would make its decision after assessing the global situation, including the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, as well as Sri Lanka’s economic conditions.
The Minister added that the government expects to announce its decision on the future of the IMF programme by next year.
