It seems Duchess Meghan isn’t finished with the MasterChef universe quite yet. In a new report from Page Six, it was revealed that the Duchess of Sussex will be joining Junior MasterChef Australia as a special guest in 2027. The show will return after six years off the air, and it will be hosted by Poh Ling Yeow.
Meghan called taking part in the series an “easy yes” in a new statement. She wrote: “I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see what they cook up!”
The mother to Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, previously teamed up with host Yeow on an episode of MasterChef Australia, filmed in April and aired this past summer. Sofia Levin, and Jean-Christophe Novelli also served as hosts and judges.
Meghan filmed the episode during a trip to Australia with her husband, Prince Harry, which marked their first official tour of the country since 2018. During her guest stint, Harry even made a surprise cameo in the form of a video call. “What’s going on? Have I interrupted something important?” he jokingly asked during the episode.
The part on Junior MasterChef Australia marks Meghan’s first on-screen gig since moving back to the U.K. with her family in late August. Previously, she starred on the Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which ran for two seasons and featured a holiday special. Sadly, the series was not renewed for another installment, but it still managed to earn Meghan her first Emmy Award nomination.
But this new Junior MasterChef Australia part may not be all the duchess is cooking up. Upon the family’s move across the pond, it was reported that Meghan also has a “top secret” acting project in the works.
On an episode of BBC Radio Four’s Today, royal correspondent Bronte Coy shared: “I’m told it’s significant, and she’s very excited about it.” More details are expected to arrive “relatively soon.”
