Casio has officially unveiled a new W-221 series watch. This latest version of the digital model, rumored earlier in 2026, has a metal strap and many functions, including a stopwatch and an alarm.
The Casio W-221HD-1A has been officially announced by the Japanese watchmaker. This new version of the square shaped digital watch was rumored earlier in 2026.
Now, the Casio W-221HD-1A, also referred to as the W-221HD-1AV, has been listed on the brand’s website in Thailand. As predicted, this version of the watch has a silver colored resin casing. However, this model has a matching stainless steel strap, an upgrade over the resin bands of the original variants.
The features of the W-221HD-1A are the same as the originals. On the square shaped digital watch face, users can view the time in their chosen time zone (48 cities available) and in a 12 or 24 hour format. The calendar is fully automatic to the year 2099, and an amber LED backlight helps you read the display in low lighting. Other tools include a countdown timer, a stopwatch, hourly time signals and a multifunctional alarm. Plus, it is waterproof to up to 50 m.
At Casio Thailand, the W-221HD-1A is listed with a ฿2,900 (~$86) RRP, though it is not currently available to purchase. The company has yet to confirm when this watch could launch in markets like the US, where you can already buy older W-221 watches like the W-221H-1A (curr. $34.92 at Amazon Marketplace).
