Five wins in seven games have changed the mood surrounding the Cleveland Browns, and Deshaun Watson is enjoying a level of success that once appeared unlikely after his injury problems and the team's struggles in recent seasons.
The 31-year-old quarterback delivered another influential performance in Sunday's 27-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans, throwing for 308 yards and scoring a crucial fourth-quarter touchdown.
Deshaun Watson appears to forget brutal Bills game weeks later: “Which Buffalo game?”
Cleveland's latest triumph continued an impressive turnaround under head coach Todd Monken, with Watson demonstrating the composure that has helped his team repeatedly emerge victorious from close contests.
Watching those performances has been particularly rewarding for Watson's wife, Jilly Anais, who celebrated the victory with an enthusiastic Instagram Story featuring footage of his touchdown.
"That boy 4 a bad MF!!!!!!!!!! Another Sunday WIN Baaaaaby! 4's uppppp," Anais wrote, referencing her husband's No.4 jersey.
Watson's defining contribution came with Cleveland and Tennessee locked at 17-17 late in the fourth quarter, when the Browns needed their quarterback to produce another decisive drive.
He directed an eight-play, 71-yard possession that included an important gain from rookie receiver KC Concepcion, before taking matters into his own hands near the goal line.
Watson kept the ball and ran nine yards for a touchdown, putting Cleveland ahead 24-17 with 4:34 remaining in regulation.
The Titans subsequently tied the game again, but Watson responded by connecting with Harold Fannin Jr. for a substantial gain that moved the Browns into field goal range.
Andre Szmyt completed the comeback with a 32-yard field goal, securing Cleveland's fifth victory and extending its encouraging start to the season.
The victory wasn't without imperfections. Watson completed 25 of 36 passes but threw an interception and failed to record a passing touchdown, making his contribution on the ground particularly important.

How has Deshaun Watson become a leader?
While Anais celebrated Watson's individual performance, his teammates have pointed to something less visible in the statistics: his growing influence on Cleveland's inexperienced offense.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, Fannin praised the quarterback's ability to remain composed during difficult moments, particularly when games are decided in the closing minutes.
"Obviously, he's been in the league for a while, just being the vet," Fannin said. "Even on the sideline, he tells us to keep working with him.
"And in these close games, you can tell he's very poised, very experienced. And he just keeps helping us, encouraging us, keeping our confidence up throughout the whole game."
That leadership has become particularly valuable with young players carrying substantial offensive responsibilities.
Concepcion finished Sunday's game with eight receptions for 129 yards, while Quinshon Judkins contributed 96 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Watson and Browns turn attention to Pittsburgh Steelers
Cleveland's victory was its fifth of the season and kept the team at the top of the AFC North, a significant development after the struggles that characterized its previous campaign.
Watson has now helped engineer five fourth-quarter go-ahead scoring drives this season, providing the Browns with a confidence that has been evident in their performances under pressure.
The quarterback will face another important challenge when Cleveland travels to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 1.
Anais' enthusiastic celebration reflected the excitement surrounding her husband's resurgence, but maintaining that momentum will require further consistency from an offense still developing its identity.
Another divisional victory would strengthen Cleveland's position in the playoff race and provide Watson with another opportunity to demonstrate why his teammates have placed their trust in him.
