(ANSA) - ROMA, 27 OTT - The Alumni Network was launched in Ulaanbaatar—a project dedicated to those who have completed educational programs in Italy and are fluent in Italian. The initiative, organized by the Italian Embassy in Mongolia, took place as part of the 26th Week of the Italian Language in the World.
The event was attended by numerous students of art and Italian language and culture, as well as graduates and current students at Italian universities. The network aims to maintain active contacts and foster a continuous exchange of experiences and knowledge, strengthening cultural and educational ties between Italy and Mongolia.
The meeting opened with remarks by the Italian Ambassador to Mongolia, Giovanna Piccarreta.
Among the speakers were contemporary artist Bekhbaatar Enkhtur, who studied in Italy and draws inspiration from Mongolian mythology and traditions; Mongolian nuclear scientist and parliamentarian Undraa, who specialized at the Center for Theoretical Physics in Trieste and is now president of the Italy-Mongolia Interparliamentary Friendship Group; and Jadambaa, curator of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, who studied in Bologna.
During the event, Saverio Teruzzi of the Pistoletto Cittadellarte Foundation announced a scholarship for a Mongolian student. This opportunity is linked to the installation in Ulaanbaatar’s National Garden Park of a land art piece by Michelangelo Pistoletto, curated by Francesco Stocchi and created in collaboration with the Mongolian artist Battogtokh Turbot. The project symbolizes the friendship between the two countries, in the spirit of promoting peace, democratic values, and multilateralism.
