Newcastle United will lock horns with Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this Wednesday night as they look to secure a victory in the EFL Cup. The Magpies managed to earn a solid 2-0 win away at Crystal Palace recently, so they would be full of confidence going into this game.
Matthias Jaissle will opt for the 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this clash. Sven Botman, Jacob Ramsey and Yoane Wissa could all play from the start of this game.

Defence
Lukas Hornicek will feature in between the sticks for the Magpies after keeping a clean sheet in his last appearance. Fabian Schar will play alongside Sven Botman at the centre of Jaissle’s defence as they look to keep the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
Amar Dedic will try to catch the eye as the right-back, while Lewis Hall hopes to put in a solid performance on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Dan Burn will offer cover for the centre-back positions on the bench.

Midfield
Joe Willock, Nico Gonzalez and Jacob Ramsey will make up Newcastle‘s midfield. Their main job would be to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park and engineer some inviting chances in the final third.
Joelinton and Sean Steur will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Attack
Harvey Barnes will look to make a difference as a left-sided wide player, while Jacob Murphy hopes to impress on the other flank as the right-winger. Both of them will be instructed to get in behind the Everton defence at every chance they can get.
Yoane Wissa will spearhead Newcastle’s attack up top. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet this week.
Anthony Elanga and Bazoumana Traore will make up the numbers for Newcastle on the bench as they wait for their chance to impress in the latter stages of the game if required.
