(ANSA) - ROME, 26 OTT - Ronaldinho is set to come out of retirement to play for Italian third-tier side Ravenna in a derby match against Forli on November 15, the club, which the former Brazil great has a stake in, has announced.
The 46-year-old has not played a competitive game since a short stint with Fluminense in 2015.
Ronaldinho, whose trophy cabinet includes the 2002 World Cup and the 2005 Ballon d'Or, joined Ravenna in the close season but there had been doubts about when, and whether, he would actually play for the team, who are second in Group B of the third tier, Serie C.
The former Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and AC Milan star is aiming to score his 300th career goal against Forli.
"The wait is almost over," Ravenna said.
"The magic is returning to the field". (ANSA).
