Bayern Munich hail Harry Kane after historic Ballon d’Or win

Bayern Munich officials have praised Harry Kane following his victory in the 2026 Ballon d’Or, describing the England striker’s achievement as a moment of immense pride for the German club.

The club’s senior figures expressed their delight the day after Kane secured the prestigious individual award, recognising both his goalscoring record and his contribution to the team.

Bayern president Herbert Hainer said the striker’s success represented a historic occasion for the club, while also highlighting Kane’s standing among some of its most celebrated figures.

“It is a day of pride for FC Bayern. Harry Kane can do everything: he scores goals, more goals and even more goals,” Hainer said.

He also emphasised the significance of having Kane as part of the Bayern family, placing the Englishman alongside legendary former players Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in the club’s history.

“We are proud that this exceptional athlete and person is part of the FC Bayern family,” he added.

Kane’s achievement was also welcomed by Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen, who said the forward was deserving of the honour.

Dreesen pointed to the striker’s record of breaking milestones over several years as evidence of his sustained excellence.

Sporting director Max Eberl focused on another aspect of Kane’s contribution, praising the responsibility he assumes both during matches and within the dressing room.

“He takes responsibility and is someone the others follow, day after day,” Eberl said.

The Bayern sporting director believes the Ballon d’Or represents recognition of Kane’s wider career, rather than simply his latest accomplishments.

Eberl also said the striker’s success delivered an important message about perseverance.

“You must never give up.”
