The Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) has commended the Nigerian Navy team for winning the Most Disciplined Team award at the just-concluded 14th Korean Ambassador Cup in Abuja.
NTF President Tayo Popoola said the recognition reflected the team’s fair play, discipline and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Popoola told our correspondent that the Navy team distinguished itself by maintaining discipline and interacting positively with other participants.
“It was not a surprise that they got the award. They were everywhere and they mixed with others and displayed good spirit of sportsmanship. I salute the team and they should keep it up,” Popoola said.
The federation, which organised the championship, emphasised the importance of recognising discipline as an essential part of sporting competition.
Our correspondent observed that although other paramilitary organisations attended the event, the absence of the Nigerian Police was noticeable.
