BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football expects Josh Hoover to start at quarterback against Minnesota.
Hoover suffered an unspecified injury to his throwing arm against Ohio State that impacted the offense in a 13-6 win over Michigan. He only attempted two pass attempts after halftime, but one of those came in overtime to set up the go-ahead touchdown.
While Hoover practiced throughout the week leading up to the game, he wasn't at 100%. Indiana coach Curt Cignetti briefly addressed Hoover's status during his weekly Monday press conference.
"I expect him to be fine and better this week," Cignetti said.

After the game, Cignetti said he considered replacing Hoover in the second half with backup Grant Wilson, a one-time starter at Old Dominion.
"There were a lot of discussions about Grant Wilson and Josh Hoover," Cignetti said on Saturday. "Grant had a good week of practice. He's very capable, he's big, strong, can run. But I think at the end of the day, we felt like it's been Josh's season. And even though he's not 100%, we gotta finish it out with him. And he responded."
Hoover, who finished the game 8 of 18 for 81 yards with an interception and rushing touchdown, has thrown for 1,741 yards with 18 touchdowns and an interception. He has a 170.9 passer rating that ranks No. 12 among all FBS quarterbacks.
