The mysterious case of just-married and now-dead Russian rapper Misha Mavashi has emerged from his hometown of Voronezh.
According the U.S. Sun, the pro-Vladimir Putin rapper, whose real name is Mikhail Nits, died at the age of 41 due to a gunshot wound to the head. Cops are investigated whether Mavashi, who raised money for Putin’s Ukraine invasion, died accidentally while cleaning his gun or purposely shot himself.
Conspiracy theorists, however, have been speculating whether something more nefarious happened.
Mavashi was married days before the incident to glamorous model-blogger Katya Kot, 31, who was reportedly in the other room when she heard a gun go off.
‘How am I supposed to live without you?’
Kot, whose real name is Ekaterina Peresypkina, recently shared wedding day photos from Oct. 15 while paying tribute to her husband.
“Just a few days ago, this was the happiest day … And now you’re gone,” Kot wrote. “How am I supposed to live without you? Don’t fly away! Without you, I cease to exist …”
There have been varying reports on whether Mavashi was handling a hunting rifle or a pistol.
Some fans have even pointed to foul play, but friends said it was a “tragic accident” and begged for a stop to the wild conspiracy theories circulating online.

Faced prison sentence in Ukraine
Mavashi was rushed to hospital on Saturday after his wife found him injured. Doctors were unable to revive him and he was later pronounced dead.
Born in Kazakhstan, the rapper made a name for himself in Russia with rap hits that celebrated physical fitness, sobriety and personal discipline.
He was also a Russian nationalist, avid supporter of Putin’s war on Ukraine and founded the Northern Man movement in 2022, which promoted Russian identity, traditional values and physical training. Northern Man raised huge amounts of money for the war and aided Russian soldiers fighting on the frontline.
In September 2025, a Ukrainian court sentenced Mavashi in absentia to an eight year-prison sentence for violating Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
