Luka Dončić has not needed to shake off any rust this season.
The superstar guard produced a staggering 52-point performance in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 132-123 win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday night. Dončić’s 34.3 points per game is second-highest in the league and a key reason why the Lakers are undefeated to this point in the season.
One of Dončić’s biggest critics over the years has been Kendrick Perkins.
The former NBA forward called Dončić out for having missed time during the playoffs with an injury last season and even defended the Dallas Mavericks’ decision to trade Luka in 2025 because he didn’t believe Dončić was prepared to lead a team to a NBA championship.
But even Perkins couldn’t deny Dončić’s dominance on Sunday, as he made an X post in the wake of Los Angeles’ win against Utah that read, “Luka with a cool 52 and 10 on the lord’s day.”.
Dončić responded to this, writing, “.😎”
Dončić’s response has over 600,000 views in about 13 hours. This savage response suggests Dončić has seen what Perkins has said in the past and was eager to show that he sees Perkins’ praise as well.
Even Perkins has to admit that Dončić appears to be in his prime right now.
The Lakers will look to remain undefeated on Tuesday against the Trailblazers in Los Angeles.
