Brunt Workwear is looking to outfit trade school students with a set of work boots.
The North Reading, Mass.-based boot and apparel brand has committed to donating $1 million worth of work boots to trade school students nationwide in 2027.
Brunt noted that the new commitment “accelerates” the company’s longstanding pledge to donate 100,000 pairs of boots to trade school students by 2030. Since launching in 2020, the company has already donated approximately 25,000 pairs to students nationwide.
“America needs the next generation of builders, electricians, plumbers and skilled tradespeople more than ever,” Eric Girouard, founder and chief executive officer of Brunt Workwear, said in a statement. “These are the people who will build our homes, maintain our infrastructure and keep this country running. We want to do our part to make sure they’re equipped to succeed. As Brunt grows, our commitment to the trades is only going to grow with it.”
Through this program, Brunt aims to help ease an upfront expense, while welcoming them into a community that understands, supports and celebrates this workforce.
“Brunt Workwear’s boot donation program is truly changing the face of vocational education in Massachusetts one pair of boots at a time,” James Hachey, director of the center for career and technical education at Somerville High School, added. “Particularly for students in high-need communities, having the proper and safe work boots can mean the difference between opportunity and exclusion. Students not having the same access to required safety gear can create an immediate barrier to hands-on career and technical learning. Donations like Brunt Workwear’s help remove that barrier, thereby ensuring all students can safely participate, build the necessary skills, and prepare themselves for lasting careers.”
Beginning Jan. 1, trade schools nationwide can find more information and apply for work boot donations at bruntworkwear.com. Selected schools will receive boots throughout 2027.
The news comes just months after Brunt opened the doors to its flagship store in April. Located at 70 Main Street in North Reading, Mass., the new 3,000 square-foot store is the first wholly owned Brunt retail experience.
Situated just one mile from the company’s headquarters, the new store provides customers with their first opportunity to experience Brunt’s full range of work boots, apparel, and accessories in a retail environment, including best-sellers the Marin work boot, the Torra pant, and the Shevlin hoodie.
Since launching at wholesale stores across the country with a selection of its core product assortment in 2024, Brunt has grown its physical retail presence in partnership with some of the nation’s leading workwear retailers, including Boot Barn, Scheels, Super Shoes, and Trav’s Outfitter.
