After one of the best starts in the club’s history, FC Barcelona endured the worst possible week one would imagine, as they lost to both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
The defeat to PSG was a painful one, as it was the first time Hansi Flick’s men were beaten this season. But the recent loss to Real Madrid will hurt even more, given the way Barça have dominated Los Blancos lately.
Naturally, the morale is low in the Barcelona camp right now, and the fans will most likely be questioning the team’s credentials, especially against big teams.
Barcelona players look to motivate the squad
Amid the gloom and doom, two of the club’s academy graduates have stepped up to lift spirits.

Fermin Lopez sent a message of support to the fans, writing (h/t Mundo Deportivo): “Today, more than ever, Visca el Barça! Have faith in this team, Cules. There’s still a long way to go and everything comes back around.”
Gavi echoed those sentiments, saying: “This is a long haul! I’m with my team to the death, always!”
The initiative taken by two of the homegrown stars is often a sign of healthy dressing room and it is evident that Barcelona will be keen on moving on from these two defeats as soon as possible.
What’s in store for Barcelona ahead?

In fact, the good news for Flick is that there is little time to dwell on the defeats.
Barcelona’s perfect league record before Sunday has given them a strong foundation, and one loss at the Clasico does not undo the work done in the opening months of the campaign.
The Catalans are slated to take on Alaves on Oct 31 before meeting Aston Villa on Nov 3, in what could be a must-winning encounter, after the defeat to PSG.
If Barcelona can secure wins in all of their next three games against Alaves, Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid respectively, the club could find themselves in a solid position heading into the halfway point of the campaign.
